Meet Kaitlind Johnson, LCSW
I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and it is deeply meaningful to offer therapy in the community that shaped me.
I am a licensed clinical social worker providing trauma therapy for adults and couples in Reno, online across Nevada, and via telehealth in Arizona. My work is depth-oriented, trauma-informed, and integrative, with a focus on Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and hypnotherapy for trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, burnout, and life transitions.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based care while also honoring the deeper emotional, relational, somatic, and meaning-making layers of healing.

Rooted in Nevada, Committed to Meaningful Healing
I grew up in Reno, and my connection to this community is personal. This is home. My work as a therapist is shaped by a desire to give back by offering thoughtful, grounded, and compassionate trauma therapy to the people who live, work, and build their lives here.
My path to becoming a therapist was not entirely conventional. Before entering the mental health field, I moved through a range of life and professional experiences, including serving in the military and working in the culinary world. Those chapters shaped the way I understand resilience, identity, reinvention, and the many layers that make each person who they are.
Over time, I became drawn to therapy that goes beyond symptom management alone. I wanted to support work that helps people understand the roots of what they carry, heal what has been wounded, and reconnect with a more grounded and authentic sense of self.
Alongside advanced clinical training in trauma therapy, I offer an approach to healing that is both deeply grounded and intuitively attuned. My work bridges leading therapeutic modalities with a reverence for the deeper layers of human experience, including intuition, symbolism, energetic awareness, and spiritual meaning-making. For clients who are drawn to this kind of work, therapy can become a space not only for symptom relief and nervous system healing, but also for profound inner connection, insight, and transformation.
IFS, EMDR, and Hypnotherapy for Trauma Treatment
My work is depth-oriented, trauma-informed, and integrative. I believe that symptoms such as anxiety, overwhelm, disconnection, inner conflict, and relationship distress often make sense when we begin to understand them in the context of the whole person.
In therapy, we may work with the protective parts of you that learned how to survive, the wounded parts that still carry pain, and the nervous system patterns that continue to respond as though the past is still present.
I draw from Internal Family Systems, EMDR, hypnotherapy, and somatic grounding to support trauma healing in a way that is compassionate, paced, and clinically grounded. My goal is to help you move toward greater internal connection, emotional regulation, self-understanding, and lasting change.
Therapy Modalities I Use
My approach draws from multiple therapeutic modalities so that therapy can be tailored to the person in front of me rather than forcing each client into a one-size-fits-all model.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Hypnotherapy
- IFS-informed couples therapy
- Holistic and integrative trauma treatment
These approaches support both cognitive insight and nervous system change. I believe it is through this kind of deeper healing that people come to know themselves more fully, understand the meaning of their experiences, and create change that impacts them as individuals, partners, and members of a larger community.
Who I Work Best With
I work best with adults and couples who want more than surface-level coping strategies. Many of my clients are seeking therapy that is both grounded and deep—support that helps them understand themselves more fully, heal longstanding patterns, and move toward meaningful change.
- Navigating trauma, anxiety, overwhelm, or life transitions
- Longing for deeper self-understanding and emotional healing
- Interested in approaches like IFS, EMDR, or hypnotherapy
- Wanting therapy that honors both psychological healing and deeper meaning
- Seeking couples therapy that supports insight, repair, and greater connection
